The beginning (revised)

I thought I’d better start from the beginning.
So Suzi (my youngest sister)and I were talking on a warm day in August, and I said, “Just so I’m not freaking out alone, I’m almost 2 weeks late”. She got so excited and said, “I think I’m pregnant too!!” She was much more excited than me. Mostly because we really never thought we’d be pregnant together. Our kids are even spaced far enough apart that we’ve used the same crib for all 6 kids!! Wow, six kids between us. YIKES!! Anyway, she called me one night and said, “I took the test and it’s positive, you go take one!” Well, Parker and I were doing Seussical the Musical with Community theater, and I had no intention of taking a pregnancy test until it was over. But Suzi was so excited, it was totally freaking me out not to know. So I got out of bed a 11:30 at night and took the test. Two lines almost immediately.
We found out we were pregnant on August 18th, and it was opening night!!! I was a little horrified to say the least! To coin the phrase for the next few weeks, “We were done!!” After my first OB appointment, we decided to tell the kids. Steve and I were still completely horrified, and freaking out, and not at all excited. But the boys were so excited it really helped us get more into it. Parker even hugged both of us. If you don’t know, Parker is the coolest kid around. I’m barely aloud to talk to him in public. It’s funny really. Nick was thrilled beyond belief and Emma, well, she was pretty much oblivious. I actually had her telling people she was going to be a big sister. It was very cute. But when we found out he was a brother, she couldn’t grasp the concept, She would be a big sister to a baby brother. It was funny.
So as we started to tell the world, well as Nick started to tell the world, it began to sink in, and the excitement for us was building, Well, Suzi, more than me, and me, more than Steve. And Suzi has to buy her own crib now!!!
